For BFL 65, Nicolas Ouellet has stepped in to provide his predictions and analysis for the 13 MMA bouts on the card.

Ouellet holds an undefeated amateur record of 2-0 and is also the current BFL amateur lightweight champion after defeating Manny Fernandez back at BFL 61 to win the belt. Ouellet is expected to be back in action at BFL 66.

Here are Ouellet’s predictions for BFL 65:

Dejan Kajic (12-7-2, 1 NC) vs Julien LeBlanc (5-1): PRO 175-pound Title Bout** FIGHT PREVIEW (CANCELLED due to travel issues)

“This is going to be a great high-level fight. I can see Leblanc trying to grapple and try to counter Kajic when he comes in, but Kajic is an animal and has really been on a roll lately.

Prediction: Kajic wins by TKO in the third round.

Jared Revel (9-2) vs Drayton Angus (7-9): PRO Middleweight Title Bout** FIGHT PREVIEW

“Angus has a lot of fights, but Revel is a BJJ ace and I can see him putting on a clinic on the ground and catching Drayton in a tight choke.”

Prediction: Revel wins by submission in the second round.

Achilles Estremadura (5-0) vs Kerry Lattimer (14-26): PRO Lightweight Title Bout** FIGHT PREVIEW

“I think Lattimer will be getting hit early and will be forced to try to go for a takedown. Estremadura has been really hard to take down in the past, so I think this is going to be a tough night for Lattimer. Estremadura will find his range and put him away in the later rounds.”

Prediction: Estremadura wins by TKO in the fifth round.

Jamey-Lyn Horth Wessels (3-0) vs Jade Masson-Wong (3-1): PRO Women’s Bantamweight Title Bout** FIGHT PREVIEW

“These ladies are the best in Canada and I’m excited to see how this fight plays out. I have a feeling Horth Wessels will take out Masson-Wong with a sneaky sub.”

Prediction: Horth Wessels win by submission in the third round.

Ali Wasuk (2-1) vs Nick Ghaeni (3-3): PRO Bantamweight

“Both guys are really well-rounded, and this will be a great fight. But I give an edge to Wasuk, and I believe he out-grapples Ghaeni.”

Prediction: Wasuk wins by unanimous decision.

Dario Sinagoga (2-0) vs Justin Osborn (2-1): PRO Lightweight

“Osborn has some dangerous submissions and it will be fun to see how Sinagoga deals with Osborn’s tricks. I respect Sinagoga a lot and I’ve seen him fight really tough guys. I think Sinagoga grinds out a win with superior strength and wrestling.”

Prediction: Sinagoga wins by unanimous decision.

Howie Tan (1-1) vs Hunter Clagett (1-3): PRO Flyweight

“Clagett has a lot of experience and has been fighting for a long time, but I think Tan will take it to him and land a nice accurate shot that will put Clagett away.”

Prediction: Tan wins by knockout in the first round.

Bilal Mobarak (0-1) vs Steven Chang (0-0): PRO Featherweight

“I think both these guys will bring it, but I see Mobarak taking this one with pressure and strikes.”

Prediction: Mobarak wins by unanimous decision.

Derrick Laing (2-0) vs Jordan Cabrejos (3-1-1): AMATEUR Middleweight Title Bout**

“This one is going to be fun. Laing already has a submission win over Cabrejos, and I could see him catching him in a submission again after some good exchanges on the feet.”

Prediction: Laing wins by submission in the third round.

Ivan Hryshchuk (1-0) vs Clay Hirschi (1-0): AMATEUR Light Heavyweight

“I could see Hryschchuk winning this one with superior striking.”

Prediction: Hryshchuk wins by TKO in the second round.

Brandon Labrecque (2-3) vs Damon Marlow (2-2): AMATEUR Featherweight

“I’m really excited to see how this one plays out. Labrecque has good striking and some decent submissions, but I know Marlow is hard to submit and has heavy hands. I think Marlow will land some good shots on the feet and will end up getting the fight to the ground.”

Prediction: Marlow wins by unanimous decision.

Jeevan Singh (0-1) vs Patrick Arthur (0-1): AMATEUR Featherweight

“Since both guys are coming off a loss, they will both be hungry for that first win. Singh will be the bigger fighter, but I can see Arthur pulling off the win.”

Prediction: Arthur wins by unanimous decision.

Varun Sunder Rajan (0-2) vs Dylan Malinowski (0-0): AMATEUR Flyweight

“I saw Sunder Rajan moved up in weight in his last fight and fought a bigger guy. With that experience of fighting up in weight, I believe it will give him an edge in this fight.”

Prediction: Sunder Rajan wins by unanimous decision.
