Taking on the role of guest predictor for Randy Mahon has offered up his thoughts and picks for the six MMA contests featured on the Modern FC 4 card.
Mahon owns a 4-5 professional record, having competed most recently at Modern FC 3 earlier this year against Jesse Boldt. He's already squared off against some of the top fighters in Western Canada, and he'll be back in the cage again this Saturday night at Rise FC 5, where he'll face Josh Kwiatkowski.

Jesse Boldt (3-2) vs Travis Gervais (4-3): PRO Lightweight FIGHT PREVIEW
"Gervais has gone up against tougher opposition throughout his career, but Boldt, based on my personal knowledge, is locked in. Boldt benefits from excellent training partners, strong coaching, and his mental state and self-belief are exactly where they need to be."
Prediction: Boldt wins by TKO in the third round.
Drayton Angus (7-8) vs Rafael Palomeque (1-1): PRO Middleweight
"Angus is stepping in on short notice, which speaks well of him helping keep the fight alive. Palomeque hasn't competed in five years, and I expect he has to take this to the mat since Angus possesses that one-punch knockout ability."
Prediction: Angus wins by knockout in the first round.
Austin Russell (0-0) vs Seth Connor (0-1): PRO 140 pounds
"This matchup has serious potential and could easily become Fight of the Night. Connor brings more experience to the table, but I believe he'll need to push things to the ground to have any shot at winning. Russell displays some sharp striking—I witnessed firsthand when he finished Jarrett Vornbrock, which ranks among the wildest knockouts I've ever watched. His takedown game and Brazilian jiu-jitsu shouldn't be underestimated either."
Prediction: Russell wins by knockout in the first round.
Mitch Migneault (2-1) vs Joe Alisauskas (0-0): PRO Welterweight
"Both fighters have been sidelined for a significant stretch—Migneault roughly eight years off, Alisauskas around six—so with that much time away from competition, either man could have evolved his skill set dramatically. Makes this a tough call to crack."
Prediction: Migneault defeats Alisauskas by unanimous decision.
Brendan Ekstrom (0-2) vs Josh Ladoucer (2-6): PRO Featherweight
"Ladoucer brings more under his belt by the numbers, but Ekstrom has heart. He comes out swinging early and often, and if Ladoucer hasn't put in the work leading up to this fight, we could see this wrap up fast."
Prediction: Ekstrom wins by submission in the first round.
Chris Byrne (3-1) vs Dan Juricic (1-1): PRO Heavyweight FIGHT PREVIEW
"This represents a notable leap in competition for Juricic. Byrne's got elite-level jiu-jitsu for someone his size, and honestly, it's remarkable how fluidly he moves despite his frame. That jump in quality combined with Byrne's formidable ground game is where this fight gets decided."
