Each event, there will be a “guest predictor” who will offer their insight into the event and provide their predictions for each MMA bout.

For Modern FC 4, Randy Mahon has stepped in to provide his predictions and analysis for the six MMA bouts on the card.
Mahon holds a professional record of 4-5, with his most recent bout coming at Modern FC 3 earlier this year against Jesse Boldt. Mahon has shared the cage with some of Western Canada’s best, and will do so again this Saturday night at Rise FC 5 where he will take on Josh Kwiatkowski.
Here are Mahon’s predictions for Modern FC 4:
Jesse Boldt (3-2) vs Travis Gervais (4-3): PRO Lightweight FIGHT PREVIEW
“Gervais has faced the tougher competition over his career, but Boldt, from my own experience, is dialled in. Boldt’s got great training partners, great coaches, and his mind and confidence are in the right place.”
Prediction: Boldt wins by TKO in the third round.
Drayton Angus (7-8) vs Rafael Palomeque (1-1): PRO Middleweight
“Angus is stepping up on short notice, which is good to see to save the fight. Palomeque hasn’t fought in five years, and I believe he has to get this fight to the ground just because Angus has that one-punch capability.”
Prediction: Angus wins by knockout in the first round.
Austin Russell (0-0) vs Seth Connor (0-1): PRO 140 pounds
“This is a good fight and could possibly be fight of the night. Connor definitely has more experience, but I think he’ll need to get this fight to the ground just to have a chance. Russell’s got some slick striking. I’ve seen it first-hand when he knocked out Jarrett Vornbrock, which was one of the craziest knockouts I’ve ever seen. His takedown game and jiu-jitsu game isn’t to be taken lightly either.”
Prediction: Russell wins by knockout in the first round.
Mitch Migneault (2-1) vs Joe Alisauskas (0-0): PRO Welterweight
“Migneault has been out for about eight years and Alisauskas has been out for six himself, so with both guys being out so long, anything could’ve changed in their games. This one’s kind of a toss up.”
Prediction: Migneault defeats Alisauskas by unanimous decision.
Brendan Ekstrom (0-2) vs Josh Ladoucer (2-6): PRO Featherweight
“Ladoucer is more experienced for sure when you look at the records, but Ekstrom’s a gamer. Ekstrom comes out hard and fast, and if Ladoucer hasn’t been training hard for this fight, I can see it being a quick night.”
Prediction: Ekstrom wins by submission in the first round.
Chris Byrne (3-1) vs Dan Juricic (1-1): PRO Heavyweight FIGHT PREVIEW
“This is definitely a step up for Juricic in competition. Byrne has really good jiu-jitsu for a big guy. It’s actually quite impressive how he moves for a big guy. I think that step up in competition and just how good of a ground game Byrne has will be the difference.”
Prediction: Byrne wins by submission in the second round.
