Predictions: BFL 56

Each event, there will be a “guest predictor” who will offer their insight into the event and provide their predictions for each MMA bout.

For BFL 56, Ali Wasuk has stepped in to provide his predictions and analysis for the 10 MMA bouts on the card.

Wasuk boasts an impressive amateur MMA record of 7-3, including winning the BFL amateur featherweight title in his last bout against Mitch Strazzella. Back in 2016, Wasuk also won the BFL amateur bantamweight title, defeating Kevin Kellerman at BFL 41. Following his most recent victory, Wasuk confirmed the next time he steps in the cage will be as a professional.

Here are Wasuk’s predictions for BFL 56:

Chris Anderson (6-1) vs Dejan Kajic (8-7-2, 1 NC): Fight Preview

“I was actually in Kajic’s corner the first time they fought, but I have to go with Anderson. He’s trying to rebound back from a tough split decision loss to Matt Dwyer, and I think he will in a dramatic fashion.”

Prediction: Anderson wins by TKO in the third round.

Nick Ghaeni (3-2) vs Gagan Gill (1-0): Fight Preview

“I’m torn with this one because I’d really love to fight Ghaeni and I’ve trained a little bit with Gill. Part of me wants Ghaeni to win so we can make that fight happen in the near future, but my heart says Gill’s going to get it done. Gill has some good striking and is really good off his back as well. I think Gill’s striking will play the difference.”

Prediction: Gill wins by TKO in the second round.

Jared Revel (6-2) vs Nick Coughran (3-6)

“Revel’s been training a lot at WKX, and I think it showed in his last fight. In his last fight, I heard he injured his right hand and still got the knockout. The WKX guys are really putting in work with him, and I think he’s going to get it done.”

Prediction: Revel wins by knockout in the first round.

Micah Brakefield (6-7) vs Taylor Bull (1-6)

“I think Brakefield’s jiu-jitsu is going to be the difference. He’s got a wicked triangle that he can throw off his back, or while he’s got guys on the cage.”

Prediction: Brakefield wins by submission in the first round.

Saeid Mirzaei (0-0-1) vs Greyson Shields (0-0)

“Mirzaei’s to just too relentless. I think his jiu-jitsu game is really underrated. He’s got a mean rear-naked choke and I think he’s going to choke him out in the second round.”

Prediction: Mirzaei wins by submission in the second round.

Craig Maclean (3-2) vs Dylan Atkinson (4-4)

“Maclean has really heavy hands and I know he’s been working hard on his striking. I think he’ll put him away in the second.”

Prediction: Maclean wins by knockout in the second round.

Tylor Nicholson (0-2) vs Howie Tan (0-0)

“I think Nicholson’s found his division at 125 pounds, and I think Tan is a little too small. I know Tan has some big heavy blows he can throw, but if Nicholson can avoid getting clipped, I think he’ll get it done.”

Prediction: Nicholson wins by TKO in the second round.

Josh Morgan (2-2) vs Terrence Spina (3-0): Fight Preview

“Spina is a big guy with heavy hands, and I think he’s going to clip him and drop him early in the fight.”

Prediction: Spina wins by knockout in the first round.

Bradley Nicholson (3-3) vs Jesse Bull (2-3)

“I’ve trained with Nicholson before at Tristar, and although he’s coming off a bit of a layoff, I think he’ll get it done.”

Prediction: Nicholson wins by TKO in the third round.

Billy Morrison (2-1) vs Hugh Gleason (1-0) **Canceled**

“Morrison is a very tall, tough dude. It’s going to be very hard to get inside his reach, so I think Morrison will just pick Gleason apart from a distance.”

Prediction: Morrison wins by knockout in the first round.
