Predictions: Rumble in the Cage 59

Each event, there will be a “guest predictor” who will offer their insight into the event and provide their predictions for each MMA bout.

For Rumble in the Cage 59, Lucas Neufeld has stepped in to provide his predictions and analysis for the 14 MMA bouts on the card.

Neufeld boasts a professional MMA record of 3-1, with his first loss coming two weeks ago at Tuff-N-Uff: Fight Night. Despite the loss, Neufeld remains one of the more young, promising Canadian prospects at featherweight, and is due back in the cage early in the New Year.

Here are Neufeld’s predictions for Rumble in the Cage 59:

Sheldon Doll (6-3) vs Marcus Hicks (20-25): Fight Preview

“Doll is an absolute monster. He has hands the size of Brock Lesnar and is very aggressive.”

Prediction: Doll wins by knockout in the first round.

Justin Basra (4-0) vs Joaquin Calderon (8-4): Fight Preview

“Basra has a ton of experience when it comes to all areas of MMA and will just be too much for Calderon.”

Prediction: Basra wins by unanimous decision.

Joel Odorski (0-0) vs Greg Large (2-11)

“I have to give this one to Lethbridge’s finest, keeping the streets of Lethbridge safe as hell. Odorski likes to bang it out, and I see him finishing it in the second round.”

Prediction: Odorski wins by TKO in the second round.”

Maged Hammo (8-5-1) vs Fred Stonehouse (3-1): Fight Preview

“I’m sure it’s going to be a good standup fight, but Hammo is just tricky, very explosive, and is going to be moving fast at 145 pounds.”

Prediction: Hammo wins by TKO in the first round.

Neil Berry (7-8) vs Jordan Murray (6-14)

“I’m pumped for this fight. Berry is a black belt, but also has very solid standup. I think he’s going to box him up, get in tight and finish him via black belt skills.”

Prediction: Berry wins by submission in the second round.

Colton Cronkite (2-0) vs George Davis (2-1)

“It’s going to be a classic Colton Cronkite performance. He’s got a very strong guillotine, and he’s good a breaking people down, getting ahold of the neck and making it their worst nightmare.”

Prediction: Cronkite wins by submission in the first round.

John Nguyen (0-0) vs Ryan Moore (0-5)

“We’re going to see what kind of condition Ryan Moore shows up in. My guess is he’s going to look something like a bag filled with milk, but I hope he shows up in good working order. But I see Nguyen having an excellent pro debut.”

Prediction: Nguyen wins by TKO in the first round.

Evan Piercey (2-1) vs Jeremy Grieve (1-0)

“Piercey has those long arms that he should be able to wrap around Grieve’s neck. Once he’s got those gangly arms around him, he’s not going anywhere.”

Prediction: Piercey wins by submission in the first round.

Sean Michaels (3-2) vs Andrew Mavridis (3-0)

“Michaels comes from a strong training camp and is likely hungry for a win after his last loss.”

Prediction: Michaels wins by submission in the second round.

Austin Kuchinka (1-0) vs Fred Bauer (0-0)

“I’ve seen Kuchinka in the gym and he’s training hard. He stays in shape and is pretty disciplined and committed, and I think that’ll work out in his favour.”

Prediction: Kuchinka wins by TKO in the first round.

Cornelius Krahn (2-3) vs Phil Lauzon (1-1)

“I’ve trained with Krahn before and he’s a super gritty, durable guy who doesn’t give up.”

Prediction: Krahn wins by submission in the first round.

Ryan Lebedoff (0-0) vs Luc Bernard (0-0)

“This is another close matchup with both these guys having all the energy in the world.”

Prediction: Bernard wins by unanimous decision.

John Moore (0-1) vs Brandon Burton (0-0)

“I saw Moore fight Joel Odorski and he just kept coming forward. Moore has heart for days and can take it into the late rounds.”

Prediction: Moore wins by knockout in the second round.

Brandon Conway (0-0) vs Carter Wozney (0-0)

“With two debuting fighters, it can be a toss up. I have to give the edge to Conway.”

Prediction: Conway wins by submission in the second round.
