Each event, there will be a “guest predictor” who will offer their insight into the event and provide their predictions for each MMA bout.
For Unified MMA 40, Josh Kwiatkowski (5-3) has stepped in to provide his predictions and analysis for the 12 MMA bouts on the card.
Kwiatkowski is one of Canada’s most promising prospects in the featherweight division. Coming off a close decision loss to fellow top prospect Lucas Neufeld at BTC 10, Kwiatkowski will be looking to get back in the win column this fall in the BFL cage.
Here are Kwiatkowski’s predictions for Unified MMA 40:
Graham Park (7-2) vs Neil Berry (9-9): PRO Light Heavyweight Title Bout** PARK PREVIEW, BERRY PREVIEW
“A great main event with two beasts pit against each other, but since his loss to Marcus Hicks, Park has been on a tear of finishes.”
Prediction: Park wins via TKO in the second round.
Neal Anderson (10-3) vs. Maged Hammo (9-5): PRO Featherweight Title Bout** ANDERSON PREVIEW, HAMMO PREVIEW
“I think this fight could be fight of the night for the title between two really tough mofos. Anderson and Hammo have both fought the who’s who, but I’m going to go with the underdog in this one. Also my bet for fight of the night.”
Prediction: Hammo wins by knockout in the second round.
KB Bhullar (8-2) vs. Anton Tokarchuk (4-4-1): PRO Light Heavyweight BHULLAR PREVIEW, TOKARCHUK PREVIEW
“An interesting matchup with recently cut Bhullar from the UFC taking on the awkward Tokarchuk. I think Tokarchuk’s chin and weird style will be enough to edge a decision win over Bhullar.”
Prediction: Tokarchuk wins via unanimous decision.
Nick Hrabec (7-5) vs. Kolton Menzak (7-5): PRO 165 pounds
“It’s going to be a close, back and forth match, but I believe Hrabec edges it out.”
Prediction: Hrabec wins via unanimous decision.
Andrew Mavridis (1-0) vs. Tyler VanKill (1-0): PRO 165 pounds
“This fight is between two undefeated killers, but I just think VanKill’s ground game will be too much for a lot of his future opponents.”
Prediction: VanKill wins via submission in the first round.
Tyrell Giselbrecht (0-0) vs. Jerico MacPhee (1-0): PRO Lightweight
As we go on into the card the fights get better and better and this one should be a good, close battle, but I think MacPhee finds a late finish.
Prediction: MacPhee wins via TKO in the third round.
Mohamad Ali (0-0) vs. Evan Piercey (0-0): PRO Lightweight
“A battle of the newcomers. Despite having a fantastic fight name, I think Piercey finds a way to get a finish on Ali in the second or third round. Should be a good fight.”
Prediction: Piercey wins via submission in the second round.
Ali Charkie (0-0) vs. Lorenzo Celis (1-0): PRO Middleweight
“A battle of the big boys and I think Charkie’s strength will be too much and the newcomer finds a way to get it done.”
Prediction: Charkie wins via unanimous decision.
Rylie Marchand (3-0) vs. Shannon Clark (2-0): AMATEUR Women’s 140 pounds
“This is a great fight! I think it will be exciting right from the opening bell, but I think Marchand finds a way to finish the fight.”
Prediction: Marchand wins via TKO in the second round.
Mitch Wiles (1-2) vs. Shane Bell (0-0): AMATEUR Flyweight
“Wiles’ experience will be too much for the newcomer, Bell. Also don’t know if that’s true because Bell could be a killer, but it seems like the right thing to say.”
Prediction: Wiles wins via TKO in the third round.
Jose Pangilinan (0-0) vs. Arman Deol (0-0): AMATEUR Featherweight
“Hard to pick a winner when neither has fought, so I’ll say it’s going to be a draw. Yeah, I said it.”
Prediction: Pangilinan and Deol fight to a draw.
Oleksandr Krutskykh (0-1) vs. Leo Bonin (0-1): AMATEUR Featherweight
“I don’t know either of these homies, but the first guy has an impressive name and could possibly be Russian, so I’m taking him.”
Prediction: Krutskykh wins via unanimous decision.
