Aaron Jeffery (9-2), widely regarded as one of the most promising fighters both in Canada and globally, returns to competition this weekend at CFFC 93.
Going head-to-head for the CFFC middleweight championship, 28-year-old Jeffery takes on fellow former DWCS fighter Collin Huckbody (9-2). Jeffery is ready to battle on UFC Fight Pass, aiming for a standout showing that could open doors for his future career.
"CFFC remains one of the premier promotions outside the UFC," Jeffery told MMA Empire during a recent interview.
"With it airing on Fight Pass and featuring a championship bout, it's going to be a great opportunity to add another belt to my collection. Huckbody's solid—he earned his contract on the Contender Series, so he's definitely someone I respect. Ultimately, this is a huge fight in every sense."
Jeffery's sole defeats came against Sean Brady, who recently caught attention at UFC 259, and UFC veteran Brandon Allen. As a member of the highly respected Niagara Top Team, Jeffery trains alongside rising talents like Jasmine Jasudavicius and Anthony Romero. Jasudavicius will also be competing on the same undercard as Jeffery.
"It's great traveling together. It does create some challenges for our coaches since we train with the same staff. If we both pull off wins, it's absolutely amazing—we can celebrate together," Jeffery shared.
When it comes to his next steps, Jeffery has his sights set on competing at a higher level, potentially in the UFC.
While currently signed with CFFC and focused on capturing their championship, Jeffery is content where he stands right now yet remains driven to reach the next level.
"Hard to tell," Jeffery responded when asked whether the UFC might be his next stop.
"I wish I had the answer myself. People have been predicting it for over a year. I still have fights left to fight, still have wins to earn, so I'm not entirely sure what's ahead."
