Saturday evening will showcase a Canada versus Japan showdown under the main event banner.
Adam Assenza (14-6) takes on Kazuma Maruyama (12-5) in the featured contest of BTC 14. This lightweight match-up unfolds at RBC Place in London, Ont.
Assenza, 34, hailing from Burlington, Ont., steps back into the BTC Fight Promotions spotlight for the first time since BTC 9. The ex-BTC lightweight champion last competed under this banner in February 2020.
Stepping back into the BTC Fight Promotions circle stirs a range of emotions for Assenza.
"It feels good; BTC is where I belong," Assenza told MMA Empire during a sit-down.
"I've earned a strong local fanbase that keeps reaching out, wondering when I'll be fighting nearby. My opponent selection is where things get tricky—I tend to chase undefeated rising stars or UFC veterans preparing for a comeback. Those are usually the two archetypes I'm drawn to. With Canada in lockdown for a stretch, finding those matchups became more challenging. Still thrilled to be back, pleased with who I'm facing, and grateful BTC brought someone like him to the card."
