Mac Laursen (2-1) steps into the ring with Lee Gaudet (5-7) in the Absolute MMA 2 main event at welterweight this Saturday in Calgary, Alta.
After years of building toward this moment, the Calgary-born fighter finally gets the spotlight in his hometown. Laursen says the crowd has already shown him plenty of support, and while that local pressure comes with expectations, he's keeping his head locked on what matters most — the fight itself.
"I respect Lee as a seasoned pro," Laursen told MMA Empire. "He's dangerous on the mat, bringing five submission victories to the table. But I'm prepared."
"He brings veteran experience, sure, but I'm young and eager. I've been grinding nonstop in camp, and I'm ready to let everyone see what Big Mac stands for."
