Predictions: BTC 17

Unfortunately, BTC 17 has been riddled with injuries but is still left with five solid matchups featuring young prospects. Check out my predictions for all five fights below.

Alex Gluzman (0-0) vs. Karim Henniene (0-0): PRO Bantamweight GLUZMAN PREVIEW, HENNIENE PREVIEW

One aspect that makes this fight difficult to call is Henniene hasn’t competed for nearly three years, while Gluzman has had five fights in that span, and all against good competition. I see this being a very close fight that could go either way.

Prediction: Henniene wins via decision.

Indroop Virk (2-1) vs. Noah Crosswell (0-3): PRO Bantamweight

These two just recently faced each other at BFL 71 where Virk submitted Crosswell in the first round. I see the fight playing out very similarly here with Virk securing an early takedown again and finding a finish.

Prediction: Virk wins via submission.

Steven Sampaio (0-0) vs. Dylan Lacroix (0-1): PRO Flyweight

It’s been nearly three years since Lacroix’s last fight, so it’s tough to gauge where his game is at and how much he’s improved. Sampaio is riding a three-fight win streak into his professional debut and I think he has a successful one.

Prediction: Sampaio wins via submission.

Bilal Mutmayen (0-0) vs. Michael Asiffo (0-0): PRO Welterweight

Mutmayen is making his professional debut and doesn’t have any amateur fights on record, so he’s a big question mark. However, he does appear to have a very solid standup game and I feel like that’s where this fight will primarily take place.

Prediction: Mutmayen wins via TKO.

Amin Almelik (0-2) vs. Antonio Cappello (0-0): PRO Featherweight

Both of these guys come from very solid camps in Niagara Top Team for Almelik and H2O MMA for Cappello. I think if Cappello decides to mix in the wrestling here he should be in a good position to get his hand raised.

Prediction: Cappello wins via decision.
