Kyle Nelson sees opportunity to collect multiple bonuses in Jai Herbert matchup at UFC Fight Night 208

This matchup has all the makings of fight of the night.

Huntsville, Ont.’s Kyle Nelson (13-4) tests skills with Jai Herbert (11-4) in lightweight action at UFC Fight Night 208 on Saturday night in London, England.

Primarily competing at featherweight throughout his career, Nelson, 31, is making the move up to lightweight, starting with this matchup with Herbert.

Following his team’s analysis of Herbert and his training camp, Nelson believes he sees a clear path to victory on Saturday.

“We’re always working on myself and my game plan. I’ve watched my opponent’s fights just to see if there’s anything that he does special or anything like that, then I leave it to my coaches and cornermen to watch his fights in order to build the specific game plan,” said Nelson in an interview with MMA Empire.

“I think we have a good breakdown of Jai (Herbert) and I think we’ve got the perfect game plan to beat him. I’m just going to be excited to fight.”

Having only gone to decision a combined six times between them, there will likely be no shortage of action when Nelson and Herbert take to the cage.

And Nelson believes this fight will lead to a few extra dollars in his pocket.

“I’m going to take what he gives me. If he wants to stand and bang, I’m more than happy to do that. I think that would be a mistake on his part, but I mean let’s do it. Let’s get this bonus. I’ll take the win bonus and the performance bonus.”
