After 15 long months away from action, Tanner Boser is eager to step back into the Octagon and get back to work.
Bonnyville, Alta.'s Boser (20-8-1) squares off against Brazil's Rodrigo Nascimento (8-1) at UFC Fight Night 210 in a heavyweight clash on the main card tomorrow night.
The bout was originally slated for April, but Nascimento had to pull out due to unforeseen complications, giving both fighters more time to prepare before facing each other now.
"I really like how this matchup plays out," Boser told MMA Empire.
"He brings a complete skill set and excels across the board, and I believe my style gives me an edge. Obviously, he's elite on the ground, so I'll need to steer clear of his strongest suit. But he's dangerous everywhere—no soft edges, he's got real toughness and grit. Still, I'm happy to be matched up against him. That said, I'd be ready to fight anyone; the opponent isn't everything—it's just as crucial when the bell rings."
Boser's last outing came in June 2021 when he stopped Ovince Saint Preux via strikes in the second round. During the gap between fights, he kept busy running seminars and doing security work at Edmonton-area bars.
