UAE Warriors 28 on March 26 will have two titles on the line including Canadian, Corinne Laframboise fighting for gold.
In the main event Tarek Suleiman, the current light heavyweight champion, will drop down to middleweight to face Will Fleury for the inaugural middleweight title. Now, sources tell MMA Empire that Laframboise (7-4) will take on Venezuala’s Carolina Jimenez (7-0) in the co-main event for the vacant UAE Warriors flyweight title. UAE Warriors goes down on Saturday, March 26 from Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The event will also air live on UFC Fight Pass.
Laframboise is 4-1 in her last five and riding a two-fight win streak. The Montreal, Que. native last fought back in September where she scored a first-round TKO over Elin Oberg and before that, submitted Malin Hermansson. Her last loss actually came to Manon Fiorot in July 2020 by third-round TKO. Fiorot was the former UAE Warriors flyweight champion and now ranked 13 in the UFC’s flyweight division.
Jimenez is set for her second fight in UAE Warriors as she made her promotional debut in June with a first-round submission win over Lucrezia Ria. She did compete in the Invicta Phoenix Series 2 tournament and lost to Kay Hansen in the first round by decision. Prior to signing with UAE Warriors, she competed locally in Venezuela and has six of her seven wins by stoppage.
UAE Warriors 28 will also see the middleweight title fight as mentioned as well as Fabricio Sarraff vs. Sarvadzhon Khamidov, which MyMMANews reported earlier today. Top prospect, Dakota Ditcheva will also look to stay undefeated as she takes on Paula Christina.
This will be the second of three events for UAE Warriors in a three-day span from the Ethiad Arena as they are showcasing talent from all over the globe. UAE Warriors 27 on March 25 will have African fighters, UAE Warriors 28 on March 26 will have international fighters and UAE Warriors 29 on March 27 will have Arabian fighters. All the events will air on UFC Fight Pass.
