Frederik Dupras has been a force of nature since getting back in the MMA cage last November at the debut Samourai MMA show.
Montreal, Que.’s Dupras (4-1) looks to move his win streak to three in a row as he faces his most experienced test to date in American Carlos Espinosa (6-6) in bantamweight action in the Samourai MMA 3 main event tomorrow night.
Dupras said he’s excited about this fight as he feels Espinosa will push his skills like they haven’t been pushed before.
“Right now, since I get back to fighting, I take it very seriously. I’m very focused. I have a different mindset every fight. I’m here to win and I’m one of the best and I just want to show and get some experience, that’s what I need right now,” said Dupras in an interview with MMA Empire.
“I need more experience and that’s what I’m going to get with Carlos Espinosa because he has a lot and I’m going to try to take it to my game.”
This is the third event for Samourai MMA and the third time that Dupras will compete for the Quebec-based promotion, only this time with the stakes raised higher as Dupras will compete in his first main event.
“It just goes so fast. The first Samourai I was just coming back and now I am in the main event. But like I told a lot of guys I train so hard and before I didn’t have a place to come back but now I do and it goes so fast. I almost have done four camps this year and I’m grinding.”
